Saint Martin I - Pope and Martyr (655).
Saint Martin was a native of Toscany and became celebrated amid the clergy of Rome for his learning and his sanctity. He was the Pope from 649 to 655 anf assembled in the Lateran Church a Council of a hundred bishops, which condemned the principal heads of the eastern heresy. He died in 655.
