Saint Helen - Empress (328)
Saint Helen was born in York and she was a British princess. In her eightieth year she made a famous pilgrimage to Jerusalem, with the ardent desire of discovering the cross on which our Blessed Redeemer had suffered. The miraculous discovery is celebrated by the Church on the 3rd of May. Saint Helen returned from Jerusalem to Rome, dying there in 328.
